The Mirren New Business Awards

 

The Mirren New Business Awards is committed to honoring outstanding achievement in business development and the best practices that lead to growth. For the first time ever, we’ll be recognizing agencies and business development executives amongst their peers. Those that have achieved an exceptional level of performance will be honored.

Open to Firms In:
Interactive, Advertising, Public Relations, Media Planning/Buying, Direct Marketing, Event Marketing, Sales Promotion, and Design.

Nominations
Nominees should include executives and agencies that represent a superior level of new business performance in the previous calendar year, based on the categories outlined below. When submissions open you’ll have the opportunity to nominate your agency - or yourself, as long as you can build the case.

Judging Criteria
When the Call for Entries opens, we will also announce the criteria by which each category will be judged. The criteria will cover best practices performance, such as: agency strategy/creative product innovation, differentiation, prospecting effectiveness, pitch effectiveness, dedicated resources, CEO leadership, New Business Director leadership, and ultimately, impact on new revenue growth.

The Award Categories

Agency of the Year

The agency that has demonstrated the most outstanding performance against best practices and overall revenue increase.

New Business Director of the Year

Awarded by type of firm, the New Business Directors who best demonstrate outstanding performance in their role as they help their agency deliver results against best practices and overall revenue increase.

Up & Coming New Business Director

A "newer" new business executive that has demonstrated the propensity for outstanding performance.

Search Consultant of the Year

Agencies will decide: the search consultant judged to most value and respect agencies and their new business teams. Additional criteria will include process effectiveness, fairness (free of bias) and "giving back" to the industry.

Lifetime Achievement

The new business veteran who has demonstrated sustained outstanding achievement, is recognized as a thought leader in the field, and has "given back" to the industry (be it through community involvement, teaching, mentoring, etc.).

Best Turnaround

The agency with the greatest percentage spread from decline to growth (in 2007 and/or 2008) to growth in 2009. This will be balanced across revenue dollar value increase and revenue percentage increase.

Best Business Model Innovation

The agency that has built out from their core with the most innovative, differentiating and profitable products and services.

Character of the Year

New business director who adds a little life and spice to the crazy, chaotic world we call new business.
